What to do if you find a snake
If you find a snake in your house or yard, please do not attempt to kill or capture the it yourself.
Contact the Department of Parks and Wildlife who will send a Ranger to capture the snake and release it out in the bush.

To assist the Ranger to identify the snake, please note as many details about the snake as possible including:
- head size
- overall size
- shape
- colour
- any markings
If possible try to have someone keep an eye on the snake whilst waiting for the Ranger to arrive.
Snakes can be difficult to locate once they have disappeared from sight and watching the snake will save time in locating and catching it.
